Impact

• Approximate 15 minutes downtime of the whole network due to the introduction of jumbo frames in the storage network. Short network connectivity drop-outs for smaller configuration changes.

• Upgrade Linux kernel to 4.9.51, xfsprogs to 4.12 (#28508).

• Increase MTU on the storage network to 9000 (#28563).

• Enable flow control throughout our switching infrastructure, improve ring buffer tuning on network interface cards (#28563).
